At Conquest Select we are big admirers of the the Fiat Panda, but for most people it isnt the first car that springs to mind when talking 4Ã4s. But to the few that know, these rare little cars are incredibly capable. The worst thing you could design into a vehicle that needs to excel off road is weight, which is strange as most 4Ã4s are big heavy things. This is where the Panda 4Ã4 can show off, its short wheelbase can skip and hop over rough terrain, float over mud and the skinny all season tyres can cut through snow with ease.
This particular car has been living in Kent, which happens to be the warmest part of the UK, so I can't imagine it has seen much snow and ice. It is spotlessly clean inside, the bodywork has a lovely gloss that indicates it has been well looked after by its two previous owners. The underside has been checked too and is also very clean without any signs of off road abuse. There are some interesting details with the Panda, Fiat decided to use the Squircle as the main design feature. When you know about this square-circle idea, you find them everywhere, inside and outside they have made as much as possible squircle. It all adds to the fun and charm of the Panda. The squircle fabric seats are in superb condition, with the luxury option of a winter pack this heats the seats and also provides a heated windscreen, perfect for UK winter time and melting the morning frost in no time. The dashboard has a matte grey finish, with clear and easy to use heater controls with air conditioning and a powerful sound system, with Bluetooth telephone system included.
In addition to this specification, it has the desirable fifth seat option giving an additional headrest and seat belt over the standard car, and dark rear privacy glass adds a premium feel. On the road, the TwinAir 875cc turbo-charged engine makes the Panda come to life, it has plenty of torque and pulls well in every gear, it has far more punch than you expect. The benefit of a six speed gearbox is rare in a car of this size, but it means the motorway can be used with ease and it will happily cruise long distances in comfort.
This Panda has just flown through the MoT without any advisories and with road fund license at only £30 per year there can't be a better value, modern, economical 4Ã4 available.
